The Lot Radio's editorial identity is inseparable from its physical origin story: a reclaimed 20-foot shipping container on a vacant, utility-less lot in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, split in half between radio booth and coffee stand, founded in 2016 by Belgian expat François Vaxelaire. A knowledgeable listener quickly picks up on a station built around a rotating cast of over 165 resident DJs broadcasting 24/7 — less a programmed network than an ongoing open house.
