About Subcity Radio

Subcity is a genuinely long-running institution — founded in 1995 as Glasgow University Radio and rebranded Subcity, making it one of the older freeform stations in this survey (marking a 30-year anniversary in recent years) — and it presents as a training ground and community hub for Glasgow's electronic and DIY music scenes as much as a listening destination. Its strongest recognizable trait is its dual role as broadcaster and live-events promoter/arts collective embedded in the university and wider city.
