Radio Helsinki
Independent radio from Graz.
About Radio Helsinki
Radio Helsinki carries the institutional weight of being Austria's first free radio (on air since September 22, 1995, full 24-hour programming since 2000), run by the association Verein Freies Radio Steiermark. What comes through most strongly to an outside listener is not a genre signature but a civic one: a democratically governed, member-run station where cultural politics, migration, labour and social critique sit alongside music, and where an elected programming council — not a single curatorial voice — shapes the schedule.
