About Cashmere Radio
Cashmere Radio positions itself less as a music station and more as an ongoing experiment in what radio-as-medium can be: a not-for-profit community station (originally in Lichtenberg, now Wedding) that treats broadcasting's "plasticity" — performative arts, generative music, installations, field recordings — as its actual subject matter. Its recognition (Berlin Art Week's Best Project Space prize in 2020; Tag der Clubkultur Award in 2024 and 2025; a Musicboard Berlin-funded artist residency; a 2021 appearance at CTM Festival's "Portals" program) situates it within Berlin's experimental-art infrastructure rather than its club-promotion circuit.
