Echobox reads as a training ground and civic institution as much as a radio station: a large, rotating cohort of roughly 150 "radio-makers" who apply through an open pitch process, broadcasting live from a studio ("the Box") "below sea level" four days a week. The strongest impression is one of infrastructure for a community rather than a single curatorial voice — closer to a school or guild than a tastemaker brand.
