Foundation FM
Independent radio from London.
About Foundation FM
Foundation FM reads editorially as a women- and LGBTQI+-led grassroots platform born directly out of a moment of reckoning in UK radio (its 2018 launch came in the wake of Radar Radio's collapse amid harassment allegations). A knowledgeable listener would come away less with a genre impression than a structural one: this is a station whose organizing principle is who gets to hold the microphone and mentor the next generation, not a particular sound. Its Peckham roots and reworked "breakfast"/"drivetime" slots (pushed later to suit a younger, creative audience) signal a deliberate break from traditional commercial-radio scheduling logic.
